New nursing apprenticeships start in 2017

Dec 01, 2016

New nursing apprenticeships start in 2017From September 2017, aspiring nurses will be able to train on-the-job while earning a wage.

There will be up to 1,000 places available on the new scheme, which is part of the 'degree apprenticeship' programme in which apprentices study at university alongside working, and earn a degree at the end of their course.

This is just one of the changes planned for nursing courses in 2017: the government has already said that it will replace bursaries for student nurses with loans, and introduce a new 'nursing associate' job.
